Erika’s art empowers, heals and connects
Erika Rose Fernandez is a contemporary First Nations artist blending Yamatji/Naaguja and Chilean/Mapuche heritage into powerful, colourful visual stories.
Born in Boorloo and raised partly in Geraldton, Erika’s connection to culture and Country runs deep. Her journey into painting began during pregnancy, evolving from a personal creative outlet into a celebrated artistic practice. Erika’s art is a way of healing, expression, and cultural reconnection.
“Painting helped me reconnect to who I am—
it’s how I heal, honour my Elders, and share strength with the next generation.”
Erika Rose
Working from home, she shares her creativity and stories with her daughter, passing on the values of strength, resilience, and cultural pride. Through vibrant palettes and symbolic design, Erika honours the past, celebrates the present, and inspires the future.
